Stuck in the Media Cycle

I’m something of an ambivert. I’m recharged by spending time alone. Although, I do enjoy connecting with people as well. What I notice is a disconnect between online life and real life. Sometimes, I can get so caught up in my research that I find myself becoming narrow minded. I find that I have to get myself out often enough to keep a good perspective.

When I look through a narrow lens, I get stuck believing the world fits into these tiny boxes I’ve made for it. Our entire existence is formatted for connecting with others. Relating to our fellow humans gives meaning and understanding. Finding a person you feel there is nothing in common with and creating a base of common ground shows how similar we are. I enjoy people that don’t think like me! They broaden my perspective by showing me a different way of thinking. There are many ways to get to the same end.

The only thing in life that’s guaranteed is it’s going to change. When I decide to flow with the change, life is smoother. Take the attitude of “I wonder what’s next!” And watch your life unfold with magical anticipation and wonder!

Start exploring your neighborhood, meet your local community. Get to know the people around you. Talk with people you don’t know and those you don’t agree with. Just because you don’t agree, doesn’t mean the person is evil. Hear them out, be open to changing your mind.

Don’t get caught in the media trap. Step away from the screen and live life again! Soak up the sun or the moon (whichever you prefer)! You’ll be glad you did, and you might end up being a better human because if it!
